Moti Masjid Moti Masjid is placed close to the upper lake in the heart of the beautiful and historical city of Bhopal. This mosque is a significant landmark in the history of Bhopal and is almost a replica of the historical Jama Masjid of Delhi in its architecture and design patterns.
This mosque was built in 1860 by Sikander Begum of Bhopal who is sill regarded as one of the most significant characters in the history of Muslim women in India. Apart form the Moti Masjid she had also contributed a lot in the overall development of infrastructure in Bhopal by building roads, bridges and various attractive and well-designed monuments during her progressive rule.

This shrine attracts loads of tourists from around the world because of its architectural design and beautiful carving on red stone. Though this mosque is smaller in size as compared to the Taj-ul-Masajid and Jama Masjid of Bhopal but tourists do get amazed by the striking red towers and golden spikes on them. The over all structure is elevated from the ground level and constructed with stone. The main prayer hall is constructed of glittering white marble because of which this mosque is called Moti Masjid meaning Pearl Mosque.
